All firearms or regulated firearm accessories must be shipped to the holder of a valid Federal Firearms License (FFL). We cannot ship to individuals without a valid FFL.
It is your responsibility to complete all required paperwork when you pick up your purchase from your local dealer.
It is your responsibility to contact your FFL dealer. Be aware that it is customary for your local dealer to charge a transaction fee at the time you pick up your purchase. This transfer fee is strictly between you and your local dealer. It is your responsibility to check with your local dealer concerning any policy of this kind and concerning your obligations. By purchasing a firearm from us you acknowledge that you may have to pay your dealer a fee for transferring the gun to you.
Buyer assumes all legality, liability and responsibility for the condition, use & security/storage of the firearm purchased.
It is your responsibility to ensure that a firearm is legal to own in your state.
Buyer certifies by purchasing a firearm from HiTec Arms that he or she is legally qualified to purchase and own the firearm and that there are no state or local laws preventing ownership and the owner will utilize a trigger lock to prevent accidents.
Buyers must be at least 21 years of age to purchase any firearm. Please check with your FFL / gun transfer dealer on age requirements in your state.

Shipping Regulations
Firearm Regulations
All Federal Firearm License laws apply when purchasing a firearm. Anyone desiring to purchase a firearm must be able to pass a background check. There are age limits on the sale of certain items and certain types of items are illegal in certain places. For example, so called ‘assault weapons’ cannot be sold in California and certain types of ammunition are illegal in certain states and cities. It is the customer’s responsibility to make sure that they comply with federal, state and local laws.
You do not have to be a licensed dealer to buy a firearm. If you are not a licensed dealer (also called an FFL Holder), you must make arrangements with a licensed dealer in your state to receive the item and transfer it to you. The customer must make arrangements with the licensed dealer to receive any firearm, receiver, or any other item described by the ATF as a firearm. For any firearm purchase, the buyer must be able to pass a background check.
Non-Firearm Regulations
Non-firearm items, such as air guns, knives, ammunition, antique guns that were built in 1898 or earlier, accessories, barrels, and most gun parts are not required to be transferred by a licensed dealer. There are age restrictions on many of these items, and you will be asked to verify your age (typically by mailing, faxing, or emailing a copy of your driver’s license) before you can purchase the item. In general, you must be 18 years old to buy firearm related items on this site. To buy Pistol ammunition, you must be at least 21 years old and at least 18 years old for Rifle ammunition. No age restrictions are placed on items such as apparel, books, cases, bags, pouches etc.

Firearm Shipments for Transfers
HiTec Arms (HTA) sells firearms in accordance with all Federal, State & Local firearms regulations. We will only ship a firearm to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder. The FFL holder must be located within the United States. We do not ship firearms internationally. In order for us to ship your firearm purchase, you must complete the following steps:
- HiTec Arms (HTA) must receive a legible and SIGNED copy of the Federal Firearms License from the dealer that will receive the firearm. This can be done via fax, email or standard mail.
- Payment must be received via Credit Card
Important note: Please make sure that you or your FFL dealer includes your name and order number with FFL when Emailed or faxed.
Please have your FFL dealer email their FFL to HiTec Arms (HTA).

Firearm Shipping
WE WILL ONLY SHIP TO VALID FFL DEALERS.
Once payment and a signed copy of the receiving dealer’s FFL have been received, HiTec Arms (HTA) will process and prepare the firearm for shipment. Firearms are typically shipped via UPS. Most shipments going to Alaska or Hawaii will be shipped via USPS. Shipping rates vary according to geographical location and the final value of the firearm being purchased. Minimum shipping rates are as follows:
- Long Guns: Minimum shipping rate is set at $30.00, with any additional charges being added once final value and location of receiver have been established.
- Hand Guns: Minimum shipping rate is set at $40.00, with any additional charges being added once final value and location of receiver have been established. Pistols and revolvers must be shipped next day air.
* Any additional shipping charges not shown during online check-out will be presented to the customer for approval prior to processing the order.
Once your licensed dealer receives the firearm, you as the purchaser will then be required to fill out all pertinent paperwork with them in order to take possession of your firearm.
Firearm Restrictions
States with applied firearm restrictions:
Stripped lower receivers will NOT be shipped to the following states:
- Connecticut
- Massachusetts
Complete AR’s will NOT be shipped to the following states:
- California
- Connecticut
- Maryland
- Massachusetts
- New Jersey
- New York
Non-Compliant AR & AK models will NOT be shipped to the following states:
- California (No “assault weapons” can be shipped.)
- Connecticut
- Maryland
- Massachusetts
- New Jersey
- New York
Exceptions:
- L.E.O’s must provide both their credentials and a letterhead signed by their department’s superior officer stating that the firearm will be used in the execution of the L.E.O’s duties.
- HiTec Arms (HTA) only recognizes City Police Officers, County Sheriff Deputies, and State Police (including Highway Patrol) as L.E.Os.
- Not all of the states listed may have L.E.O. exemptions.
- Please contact us BEFORE placing your order.
- HiTec Arms (HTA) does NOT ship directly to L.E.O.; the order must go to an FFL.
Magazine Restrictions
HiTec Arms (HTA) DOES NOT ship “high-capacity” magazines (those greater than 10 rounds) with firearms to the states listed below.
HiTec Arms (HTA) DOES NOT offer refunds in place of the magazines.
It is the customer’s responsibility for understanding state and local laws regarding magazine capacities.
Customers ordering magazines that are illegal to own in their state will have their orders canceled and will be charged a 5% restocking fee.
States with applied magazine restrictions:
- California – no magazines greater than 10 rounds
- Colorado – no magazines greater than 15 rounds
- Connecticut – no magazines greater than 10 rounds with a valid permit.
- Hawaii – no pistol magazines greater than 10 rounds
- Illinois –
- Chicago, Highland Park, Cook County, Dolton, Homewood & Oak Park- no magazines greater than 10 rounds
- Aurora – no magazines greater than 15 rounds
- Maryland – no magazines greater than 10 rounds
- Massachusetts – no pistol or rifle magazines over 10 rounds and no detachable shotgun magazines over 5 rounds
- New Jersey – no magazines greater than 10 rounds
- New York – no pistol or rifle magazines over 10 rounds and no detachable shotgun magazines over 5 rounds
- Vermont – no pistol magazines over 15 rounds and no rifle or shotgun magazines over 10 rounds
- Washington D.C. – no magazines greater than 10 rounds
Exceptions:
- L.E.O. must provide both their credentials and a letterhead signed by their department’s superior officer stating that the magazine/weapon will either be used in the execution of the L.E.O.’s duties, or off duty
- HiTec Arms (HTA) only recognizes City Police Officers, County Sheriff Deputies, and State Police (including Highway Patrol) as L.E.O.’s.
